Coffee Freshness & Storage
Q. What's the best way for me to age and store my coffee?
+
−
A. Our coffees are best enjoyed with a little patience.
We recommend waiting at least 7 days after roast before brewing, whether for espresso or filter.
This allows the coffee to properly de-gas and settle.
In our experience, the coffee reaches its peak between 2 to 3 weeks after roast, where
sweetness, clarity and structure are at their best.
Storing Your Coffee
If keeping your coffee in the original bag:
Once opened, gently squeeze out any excess air before resealing to slow down oxidation.
Even without freezing, if stored well using this method, your coffee can still taste enjoyable
for months, although the flavour will gradually soften and flatten over time.
If you plan to keep your coffee for longer than a month, we recommend freezing it.
You can:
• Place the original coffee bag in the freezer
• Transfer to an airtight container with minimal air
• Store as single doses in small canisters
• Vacuum seal for long-term storage
Freezing Best Practice
If freezing in a larger airtight container or the original coffee bag:
When removing from the freezer, allow it to sit at room temperature for around 30–60 minutes before opening.
This prevents condensation forming on the beans and protects quality.
If single dosing:
You can grind directly from frozen.
In fact, we often find better results grinding frozen coffee, as it produces a more uniform
particle size and leads to a more even, sweeter extraction.
